As an Early Childhood Educator, my philosophy is that children learn through Movement & PLAY. My movement based classes teach simple rhythms, develop confidence, and allow children to express themselves musically and creatively, all while having FUN! Studies have proven that Music and MOVEMENT is an integral part of children’s cognitive development. Come prepared to dance and sing along to my guitar and ukulele and songs from my 4 Albums. My passion for music and Early Childhood Education combined with my unconditional love for ALL children, creates an environment that is Musical FUN for Everyone!
Marnie has been teaching her Award Winning Classes at Kitsilano Community Centre Since 1999, and previous to that, she was an Early Childhood Educator.
A lot of PLAY, integrated with the perfect amount of Repetition and Structure, creates an environment that is comfortable and FUN for children (and adults) of all ages.

Over the years, I often heard through the parental grapevine about Music With Marnie. Shortly after my daughter turned two, I decided to try a class.
Immediately, I could see why Marnie is so popular. I cannot say enough good things about her!
At the very beginning of our first class, Marnie invited the children to choose from a beautiful collection of hand made puppets. Somehow, she had already memorized the names of all 16 children in her class, incorporating them into her opening song. Toddlers all around me were dancing with their puppets. Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and caregivers were singing along, and I knew we had found our favourite teacher ever. We were hooked on Marnie.
At the end of every class, children line up to give Marnie a high five or a hug. She has a magical way of making every child feel extra special.
For the last two years, we have attended every session possible, often rearranging our weekly schedule to fit in our Marnie class. We have gone on road trips to see Marnie in concert and we play her CDs at home. In our family, Marnie is akin to Bono.
